One of the sections on the Aircraft Status page (rg_frntw) is titled "AD Status". We use this to record the various airworthiness publications such as CAP747, CAP455, FAA Bi-Weekly etc along with their revision status.
We include a copy of the current Aircraft Status Page in each workpack and this keeps the CAA very happy because they can see that all the AD's were up to date at the time the aircraft was on check.
The problem I have is keeping the AD Status up to date. We have 70+ aircraft each with their own Status Page so every time an AD publication is revised we have to change 70+ records, with approx 4 revisions a month it equals quite a bit of work. At present we have resorted to only updating a particular aircrafts AD status when it comes in for maintenance but this means that if for any reason we are asked to issue a status between checks we have to rember to bring the Ad Status up to date.
JD - I did have a suggestion which was a seperate control file which populated this particular area on the Status Page. As long as the control file is kept up to date with the latest info so would all the aircraft status pages. Then I realised a flaw in the cunning plan. Not all aircraft have the same Airworthiness Documents recorded in the AD status section. I have an Irish registered aircraft which has IAA documentation recorded in the AD Status section, I also have a couple of other aircraft which record Transport Canada AD publications. I would be interested on your thoughts.
I did have another idea similar to those raised in another topic, what if you could link each line in the AD Status to a record in the Library section of CAFAM i.e. for the first line input the publications "Ref No" and it will pick up the publications Title and Revision. On each aircraft you can select up to 5 different library publications which will show along with the current revision in the AD Status area. As long as the library records are kept up to date all the reports will be correct.
