Is there a way to copy a call up in CAFAM ?
The problem I have is when a requirement needs to be added which has either different periodicities or is applicable to both single and multi engine aircraft.
I want the wording in each task to be consistent and also save time typing the same wording in several times. I can't view an existing task while creating another so I have to write down the wording or print a workpack page with the original task on it.
An example would be a new EASA AD 2005-0023 which is applicable to all Lycoming engines. I have created the initial task for single engine aircraft, then I entered the whole lot again with a "LH" and "RH" in the Call-Up ref to cover twin engine aircraft. After initial inspection the task is carried out at either 400 Hours or 1000 Hours so for all three call ups I have had to create a further set of call ups for the different periodicities i.e I now have six Call-Ups all with identical wording.
Anybody have a quick way to do this ?

We had a similar problem recently when we needed to copy ALL the call-ups for another fleet of identical aircraft which were on a different programme i.e. same call-up content - different periodicity.
John advised us that replication must be accomplished outside CAFAM directly in Foxpro where we needed to use Foxpro commands to make the replication, viz
USE FDTSBAD ORDER DTBSNO
COPY TO FDT_BKUP (this is our back-up file in case things get screwed up)
BROWSE (use arrow keys to locate the call-up --*--)
ESC
COPY NEXT 1 TO FDT_NEW
APPEN FROM FDT_NEW
BROWSE (now you have two lines exactly the same, change one of them to be different to suit incl periodicity) Then repeat the steps above from --*-- to make as many new entries to suit)
QUIT (when done)
and it worked fine (albeit a bit time-consuming!) We re-idented the new call-ups by suffixing e.g. 'LH' or 'RH' and then tagged the new call-ups to applicable aircraft.
Good luck.

Thanks for the advice.
I can see how the fix works in fox pro, it will be very handy if I need to make several versions of one task with different periodicities and slightly different references. This will be a big help in the future.
Meanwhile I'm sure JD is adding a "Copy Call-Up" menu option as we speak.

Huh ?...am I ?
Seriously, yes I think we will add this to the "to-do" list. I can see the merit in this one i.e. saving time typing LH/RH stuff. Thanks
