Does anyone know if it is possible to group AD's on the mandatory modifications statement?

Currently we have the option of creating two reports; call-ups and call-ups on components. We use call-ups for airframe and equipment AD's and call ups on components for engine and propeller. Ideally I would like a single report which will group Airframe, Engine, Propeller and Appliances seperately. Could the new group function introduced at revision 5e46a perform this function?

Hi CS.

I think your proposal is a good idea and would certainly make the Mandatory Modification Report easier to read.

I have looked at the report and unfortunately there is no provision at the moment to group items but it shouldn't be that difficult to introduce a grouping to the report. The problems going to be what to use to group on.

The "group" field is really for grouping together tasks that make up a particular check i.e all the tasks which make up a Phase One so that when you create a forecast for an aircraft you can include the group and all those tasks are called up regardless of when they are due. You could create groups such as "Airframe" and "Appliance" using this field but that would be no use for users who already use the "group" field for calling up tasks.

You could group by "Trade" but again this will not help users who already use this field to seperate worksheets by trade. Appliances would be grouped by whatever trade they came under i.e. Cabin Heater on Airframe, Transponders on Avionics, Generators in Electrical etc.

The only way to do it properly would be for John to create a new field on the Call-Up screen specifically for grouping on the Mandatory Modification Report. Then you could mark a call-up as AF, AP, LE, RE etc to group it on the report.

I still think it is a very good idea, its just persuading John that it is worth doing.

You can put my name on the petition and I'm sure PD will sign up for it as well.
